Assistant Professor – Qualification Details

For the position of Assistant Professor (Chemistry) at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, the essential qualifications are:

Educational Qualifications

  1. Master’s Degree in Chemistry with 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
  2. National Eligibility Test (NET) cleared in Chemistry conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar accredited test like SLET/SET.
    OR
    A Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry awarded in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016.

Ph.D. Exemption Conditions

Candidates registered for Ph.D. before July 11, 2009 are exempt from NET/SLET/SET if they fulfill these conditions:

  • Ph.D. degree awarded in regular mode.
  • Ph.D. thesis evaluated by two external examiners.
  • Open Ph.D. viva voce conducted.
  • Candidate has published two research papers from Ph.D. work (one in a refereed journal).
  • Candidate has presented at least two papers based on Ph.D. work in UGC/ICSSR/CSIR-sponsored conferences.

Additional Notes

  • NET/SLET/SET is not required for disciplines where these tests are not conducted.
  • A 5% relaxation in marks (from 55% to 50%) is applicable for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and Differently-Abled candidates.

Dangerous Goods Inspector – Qualification Details

Essential Qualifications:

(A) Educational Qualification:

  1. A degree in any discipline.
  2. Completion of a Category-6 Dangerous Goods training course approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), or International Air Transport Association (IATA).

(B) Experience:

  • Five years of experience in handling air cargo in scheduled operations.

 

Exam Pattern

1. Preliminary Examination (Prelims)

  • Type: Objective (MCQ-based)
  • Papers: Two
    • General Studies Paper I (200 marks)
    • General Studies Paper II (CSAT) (200 marks) – Qualifying in nature (33% minimum required)
  • Duration: 2 hours for each paper
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for wrong answers

2. Main Examination (Mains)

  • Type: Descriptive (Written)
  • Papers: Nine
    • Paper A: Compulsory Indian Language (300 marks) – Qualifying
    • Paper B: English (300 marks) – Qualifying
    • Paper I: Essay (250 marks)
    • Paper II: General Studies I (250 marks)
    • Paper III: General Studies II (250 marks)
    • Paper IV: General Studies III (250 marks)
    • Paper V: General Studies IV (250 marks)
    • Paper VI & VII: Optional Subject Paper I & II (250 marks each)
  • Total Marks: 1750 (excluding qualifying papers)
  • Duration: 3 hours per paper

3. Personality Test (Interview)

  • Marks: 275
  • Total Marks for Final Merit List: 2025

Other Important Details

  • Language Medium: Candidates can write the exam in English or any of the 22 scheduled Indian languages mentioned in the Constitution.
  • Selection Process: Final ranking is based on the marks obtained in the Mains (written) and Personality Test.
