Selection Process for Anchorage Pilot (on contract) at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata

1. Application Submission:

   • Eligible candidates must submit a hard copy of the application (as per Annexure-I) by 04.04.2025 to the Director, Marine Department, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata.

   • The envelope must be labeled: “Application for engagement as Anchorage Pilot (on contract)”.

   • Include self-attested copies of:

     • Age proof (birth certificate/admit card).
     • Educational/professional certificates (e.g., CoC, CDC).
     • Experience certificates.
     • 2 passport-sized photos.

     • Government-issued ID (Voter ID/PAN/Passport).

2. Screening of Applications:
   • Incomplete, incorrectly formatted, or late applications will be rejected.
   • Only candidates meeting eligibility criteria (age ≤50, valid CoC as Second Mate/FG or First Mate/FG) will proceed.
3. Written/Proficiency Test & Interview:
   • Shortlisted candidates will be notified about the Written/Proficiency Test and/or Personal Interview (date, time, venue to be announced later).
   • Candidates must bring original documents and photocopies for verification during the interview.
4. Document & Background Verification:
   • Selected candidates must submit an Antecedent Verification Report from the police and undergo a medical fitness test before joining.
5. Training and Final Examination:
   • After selection, candidates undergo 2 months of training under senior pilots.
   • A final examination is conducted post-training. Only upon qualifying will candidates receive dispensation to work as Anchorage Pilots.
6. Contract Finalization:
   • Successful candidates are engaged on a 3-year contractual basis, subject to annual performance reviews.
